Fallout 76 receives a fresh update named ‘America’s Playground,’ available for download on all platforms. This update introduces a new questline, additional explorable areas, and a significant revamp to the game’s ‘seasons’ mechanics. Centered around the Atlantic City map, initially added last year, this update aims to enrich the gaming experience for players.

Included in ‘America’s Playground’ is a new questline situated in Atlantic City, following the beloved ‘Expedition’ model familiar to players. Additionally, a crossover questline is introduced in Appalachia, the game’s primary map, originating from Atlantic City.

Players are encouraged to delve deeper into Atlantic City, exploring new merchants and side quests, enriching the location and providing a more immersive experience.

The highlight of this update is the extensive overhaul of the ‘Scoreboard’ system. Previously, players progressed through a free-to-access Scoreboard offering various rewards like ‘Atoms,’ cosmetics, boosts, and crafting items. Bethesda Game Studios has replaced this with a season pass format, where players can unlock items at their own pace by completing challenges to earn tokens. Although still accessible for free, players without the Fallout 1st subscription can opt to pay for access to the ‘premium’ side of the Scoreboard.

The update sizes for ‘America’s Playground’ vary across platforms:

  • PC (Steam): 17.1 GB
  • PC (Microsoft Store): 27.1 GB
  • Xbox: 27.08 GB
  • PlayStation: 26.1 GB

This marks the seventeenth season of Fallout 76
