Ingredients

  • One head of broccoli
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice
  • cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • baking sheet
  • aluminum foil

Step 1 – Cut the Broccoli

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Now, Get out your chef’s knife and cut up the broccoli into small pieces. The smaller the pieces the more crispy it will be. You want it to be about a quarter the size of the pieces you get with Chinese takeout, if not smaller. Then spread out the broccoli on the oven pan.

Step 2 – Coat the Broccoli

Drizzle the olive oil over the baking sheet, spreading it evenly among the broccoli pieces. Then, take the lemon juice and do the same thing. After that, add the cayenne pepper and the salt. The more cayenne the spicier the dish will be. Once all the ingredients are on the pan, take your hands (you washed them first right?) and mix it all together so every piece of broccoli is coated.

Step 3 – Cook the Broccoli

At this point, you might need to wait a minute for the oven to finish preheating because you finished step 1 and step 2 so quickly. Once it is preheated, slide the baking sheet into the oven. Let the broccoli cook for 10 minutes. Once it looks crispy enough take it out of the oven and let it cool for a minute or two. Then pat yourself on the back and enjoy your crispy broccoli.
